Community Guidelines
August 2026
Litlio works because people are honest about what they read and civil to each other about it. These guidelines cover what that means in practice.
Be respectful
Disagreeing with a review, a rating, or a take on a book is normal. Attacking the person behind it isn't. Comments and reviews should engage with what was said, not who said it.
No harassment, hate, or abuse
Targeted harassment, threats, hate speech directed at someone's identity (race, religion, gender, sexuality, disability, or similar), and pile-ons aren't allowed, whether on a review, a comment, a list, or a profile.
Spoilers
Litlio's review form has a "contains spoilers" option. Use it for anything that reveals a major plot point, twist, or ending. It's a courtesy to readers who haven't finished the book yet, not a hard technical block, so use it generously.
No spam or manipulated engagement
Don't post the same content repeatedly, use Litlio to advertise unrelated products or services, or try to inflate likes, follows, or review counts artificially (fake accounts, coordinated brigading, and similar).
No impersonation
Don't create an account pretending to be another person, author, or organization you're not affiliated with.
Illegal and infringing content
Don't post anything illegal, or content you don't have the rights to (full copyrighted text, pirated material, and similar). See Copyright & removals for how rights holders can request something be taken down.
Reporting something
Reviews, comments, and lists each have a Report action where they appear. For anything else, a profile, a pattern of behavior, something that doesn't fit those three, use Report content in the footer, or Contact us directly.
How reports are handled
Right now, every report is read by a person, not resolved automatically. Litlio doesn't have automatic content removal or an account-strikes system yet. Reported content isn't hidden just because it was reported. It's reviewed, and action (a content removal or account suspension for serious or repeated violations) is taken case by case.
